GPPAD is a European platform that identifies children with an increased genetic risk of developing type 1 diabetes and conducts primary prevention studies. The aim of the studies is to reduce the incidence of islet autoimmunity and type 1 diabetes in children.
The GPPAD research centres are in Belgium (Leuven), Germany (Dresden, Hanover, Munich), Poland (Warsaw), Sweden (Malmö) and the United Kingdom (Oxford, Newcastle upon Tyne).
